Our Partner in the Colombian Amazon

At the heart of our work is a belief in people. We see it as our duty to stand alongside those building opportunities, dignity, and hope for others. It’s what draws us to projects like a sustainable tour company in the Amazon.

Together with indigenous communities, Juanita (see first image) is building opportunities that respect tradition, sustain families, and safeguard the rainforest for future generations. We’re honored to stand with her.

While traveling through the Amazon, we met a woman who had left the busy life of Bogotá to start an ethical tour company. Her dream was to support her son’s education and to give travelers a way to experience the rainforest with honesty and respect.

Most tour operators here take shortcuts that harm the very place they profit from: feeding animals, isolating monkeys for show, or reshaping indigenous stories and not keeping their agreements with the community. Juanita refused those paths. Instead, she chose integrity: protecting wildlife, honoring communities, and guiding travelers in a way that respects the land.

Supporting her work reminded us that true entrepreneurship is about more than profit. It is about courage, dignity, and duty towards a greater purpose.

How it Started & Why

Her vision was already clear: protect the jungle, honor her community, and create unforgettable adventures. We only helped her put the pieces in place by formalizing her mission, building her first website, and supporting her with some marketing and business development.

With her leadership and dedication, the tour company and hostel began to grow. A new social media strategy and some Google Analytics, helped her double revenue and connect with more travelers who share her values.

Today, we continue to walk alongside her as she shapes business plans and a growth strategy that will carry her work and courage into the future.
